If you own a small business in Jefferson, Braselton, or Gwinnett County, your website’s contact form is your digital front door. But every day, thousands of automated bots roam the internet looking for those doors to kick open and flood your inbox with spam.
The Problem: The "Bot" Invasion
Bots don't just annoy you; they waste your time and can clutter your CRM data. Many tech providers will tell you to just "turn on reCAPTCHA." We recently went through a rigorous testing phase here at GOKAME using reCAPTCHA Enterprise.
While it sounds powerful, Enterprise versions can often be too aggressive, sometimes blocking legitimate neighbors in Jackson County simply because it doesn't recognize their home network "risk score."
The GOKAME Solution: The Double-Layer Defense
To keep our clients' sites fast and accessible while staying secure, we’ve moved to a smarter, two-part system:
- The Visual Check (reCAPTCHA v2): We use the classic "I'm not a robot" checkbox. It’s reliable, easy for humans to understand, and works perfectly on mobile devices.
- The "Honeypot" Trap: This is our secret weapon. We place a hidden field in the code—like a "Fax Number" box—that humans can't see, but bots can. If that box gets filled out, our system immediately knows it’s a bot and cancels the send.
Why It Matters for You
Whether we are setting up your Smart Home at Lake Lanier or managing your Commercial IT network, we believe in "Tech solved, Life simplified." You shouldn't have to wade through 50 spam emails to find one real customer.
